Adjusting a lens on its C-mount?

I need to adjust my spare Schneider Kreuznach Optivaron 1,8/6-66 mm lens to be correctly positioned when screwed into my camera (Beaulieu 4008). These lenses have an internal matte, and when I screw this lens in fully the matte is tilted. My primary lens for this camera isn't coming fully out of the ...

(if anyone knows how to doing coding so the video doesn't play automatically, please let me know!)

The simple solution is to add - autoplay="false" - to your <embed> tag. i.e. <EMBED SRC="http://whatever.com/movies/my_movie.mov" width="480" height="222" autoplay="false">

A fancier solution is to ...

I would suggest doing a search in the forum for sample clips or screen grabs of the different film stocks. A picture is worth a thousand words, or so they say. Justin Lovell's site has a really diverse set of sample clips that are well labeled. - http://www.framediscreet.com/super8mmsamples.htm and ...

even though they announced that it was available immediately in November, it still hasn't made it onto the online store.
They [Pro8mm] have it in stock. It's just not on their online store. I thought they would have fixed that by now. I called them and ordered it over the phone. I have a small ...

I went the cheapest route, and purchased a Nikkor 80-200mm f 4 AI for $85.00. Unfortunately, I couldn't get my hands on it before the surf contest. I may get a chance to use it in the next couple of weeks, though. I'll post screenshots if that happens... Hopefully they won't be to dim :D

Nice, very nice! I think your problem with the out of focus is not due to your focusing the lens wrong. According to the clip, when the lens is at wide angle is when it is out of focus. It comes into focus as you zoom in. This suggests a back focus problem with the lens...

Some home movies and test footage posted on my blog

New Year's Resolution: Start blog about filming hobby... Check! With some trepidation I have started a blog *correction* Framed in 8mm , formely Alegria's films, about my filming triumphs and failures. It's always a little (or a lot) painful to the ego being a newbie at something, but I always learn ...

Calculating the focal length of 35mm lenses with super 8?

I want to use my 35mm and 50mm Nikon lenses with my Beaulieu 4008 II camera, but I'm not sure how to calculate the zoom factor. I may try to get some Super 8 of the Mavericks surf contest this weekend. The surfers are going to be almost a half a mile out. Anyone have a good formula? :)

...I worked on Premiere for over 4 years and have been working with FCP in the last year. I like FCP more than Premiere and plan on getting a Mac Pro the this summer and not using premier anymore... I guess there isn't a big difference between the two it's just FCP has better P2 support ...

There is actually an informative article by a couple of cinematographers working on the set of the tv show 24 about using HDV cameras.
hdv on the set of 24 pt.1
hdv on the set of 24 pt.2

Either the JVC GY-HD100 and the Canon XL H1 would work great for the needs you outlined. I have actually ...

SteadyMove plug-in

There is a 3rd party plug-in that comes with Premiere 2.0. It is on the install disc in a folder called 3rd Party Plugins (I think). It does a pretty decent job and costs you nothing additional. Just apply it to the clip on the timeline and render. Good luck! :D

Pictures of videotap setup?

Are you willing to post pictures of your videotap setup with the 4008 ZMII? I've been trying to figure out how to do something similar with my camera (4008). Thanks!
