Like it or not, Kodak continues to make Super-8 films to support its PROFESSIONAL motion-picture business. It's for those who use it in professional production to achieve a Super-8 "look", and for those student film programs that use it as a low cost first introduction to traditional filmmaking ...

Nice!
How much did the processing and postage cost Sparky?, if you don't mind me asking. Was it Dwaynes you used?
Can't wait for the full scans.

P.S. is that a tantalising out of focus view of the mystical Sparkyland in the background where magical add ons for the Leicina Special like remote ...

Well put. 7dayshop are a discount photo product retailer, and dlab7 are a discount film processing operation - albeit a particularly good one. It's not part of their business model to process a minority-interest film, that will require heavy investment for a questionable return.

Personally I now ...

I didn't mean my post to sound like criticism of 7dayshop. I think they offer Super8 users a great deal on price. It was so refreshing to see a retailer entering into the market with cine film sales, that doesn't happen very often. I was just disappointed that my email to them (dlab7) received such ...

Just got this reply from dlab7- the processing side of 7dayshop:

I’m sorry we can’t help but the truth is our equipment simply isn’t geared up for cine film. The longest length we can take is 36 exposures of 35mm film. I realize there might be business potential there for a ...

Can't promise BOTH E100D and E64T, but if we misread which of the two would best meet customer needs, that can be reconsidered.

Well both would keep more people happy  but for me E100D would be more desirable. I'm not too fussed about most of the arguments for and against particular ...

Just sent my Email with your reply in mind Sparky. Included a link to Bray Imaging and tried to get across how bouyant the Super8 market is by suggesting they talk to 7dayshop for Kodachrome sales figures and also browse this forum. They may get interested........

I agree Sparky, can't see it being any cheaper unless you process yourself. I'm not into that and just want an all-in-one package.
One thing I don't see is how this will all work. Do Kodak contact labs and ask them to provide E6 processing or do the labs approach Kodak or will they wait to see the ...

Well I'm disappointed, not just that Kodachrome is going but with the way the 'replacement' has been announced. I would have liked to see the new stock introduced in tandem with announcements about processing facilities and/or pre paid mailers ( ). A statement that answers more questions than ...

Hello EKTACHROME 64T, goodbye Kodachrome in Super8

Just spotted on the Kodak website......

Eastman Kodak Company remains committed to providing Super 8 camera users a range of products and creative choices. As such, Kodak has added a new color reversal film to its Super 8 portfolio -- the super-saturated, fine grain EKTACHROME 64T motion picture ...

Hi Matt,
About a month ago I had some slides back with a green slip saying the same thing. I called Kodak in Hemel Hempstead UK (01442 261122) to check and they confirmed that this applies to Super8 film as well. It may be worth calling them to see about how best to mail two rolls of film with only ...

Well, sorry to add confusion but I have just had a set of Kodachrome slides back which had a green slip inside from Kodak Photo Service SA.
It stated that all future Kodachrome film should be sent direct to the Switzerland address. I called the number suggested on the slip (0208 544 0055) but is was ...
