I've been curious as to how to do DIY telecine, more just to check out non-crucial stuff that I shoot for practice. Obviously, more important projects will get a real telecine.
But.....
What are these Telecine 5 Blade projectors that I see on Ebay all the time?

16mm zoom verses 35mm zoom... Do you get the same framing?
Is a 240mm zoom lens on a 16mm movie camera identical in-terms of zoom distance to a 240mm zoom lens on a 35mm movie camera?
What I'm asking is: If both the 16mm and 35mm cameras were placed at an identical spot; we then zoom to the maximum 240mm to a person who was standing 100 meters away.

Proper Zoom length for shooting surfing on 16mm Arri-S
Hello,
We're doing this surfing project that we're going to shoot on Super 8mm; and now we might also have use of an Arri-S.
On my Beaulieu, I've adapted a Canon FD using a C-mount adapter and it looks great.
Sadly, that option does not exist for Arri Standard mount.

Spot Meters necessary for landscapes and oceans???
Hi,
I just recently got a Beaulieu 4008ZM2 and have been shooting mostly human subjects and using a sekonic Incident meter. The results have been very nice.
However, I really want to shoot some landscapes and oceans (specifically surfing). I don't have a lot of experience shooting film and I ...

Hi,
I really need a Wide Angle option for my Beaulieu 4008ZM2. I saw this Schneider-Kreuznach UWL III listed on: http://www.super8camera-shop.com
It was listed as "Near Mint" with a "Few fine scratches." They wanted $132 US dollars including shipping from Europe.

Sunhoods, do they do much?
Hi,
I was about to pick up a Sunhood for my Canon Zoom lense attached to my Beaulieu 4008, and I wondering if most people think that Sunhoods do much? My friend who is a good DP claims that they don't do much of anything.
What do you guys think about Sunhoods? Useful or useless?

Beaulieu 4008ZMII shutter and internal filter question
Hi I have a few questions about the Beaulieu 4008ZMII
1) Does this model have a variable shutter? Is it set to 180 degrees by default? If it does have a variable shutter, how do you go about changing the shutter angle? I need this info for proper use of the light meter

Best Wide Angle lense for Beaulieu 4008ZMII?
Hi,
I was wondering which wide angle lense you guys would recommend for a Beaulieu 4008ZMII?
I'm hoping to shoot some skateboarding stuff with it, so I'm hoping to find a good wide angle.
Thanks in advance

Underexpose Reversal by 1/3stop when shooting?
I heard from someone that as a general rule for shooting color Reversal Film on Super 8mm, that you should underexpose it by a 1/3rd of a stop.
And that when shooting Negative Film on Super 8mm, you should overexpose it by 1/3rd of a stop.
Any truth to this? Or do I have it backwards??
Thanks in ...

Filters on Sunhood for Beaulieu?
Hi, I have a 4008 ZMII with Schneider 1,8/6-66.
I was told a while ago that if I use a Lense filter (ie... Polarizer, ND, UV, etc...) on my Schneider 1,8/6-66, I should screw the filter onto the sunhood, and NOT the actual Scneider lense. This person told me that if the filter is on the actual ...

I've seen a number for listing for these DIY Telecine machines that work with a projector and a camcorder where you can transfer 8mm film to your camcorder. An example of the item on the link below

Where's the best place to get a projector?
Since it was stated that buying off E-Bay can be risky for a projector, is there a reputable retailer that sells good working projectors? Is there a place specifically in Los Angeles? Or mostly on the web?

Nikkor "Film or Digital" Lense works with Bealieu?
First of all, thanks for all the help. I really appreciate it.
I was wondering if this lense: "Nikon AF Nikkor 80-200 f/2.8 ED Film OR Digital" would work with a Bealieu 4008II with a Nikon C-Mount Adapter?
item on E-Bay:

Still 35mm verses Super 8 zoom ratios?
I have one LAST question about doing a Nikon zoom lense to Bealieu adoption.

"If you fit a still camera lens on your Beaulieu via an adaptor, you will receive “very much telephoto. To compare you have to use a factor 6,3 to multiply. A 100mm Nikon 24x36 camera lens is ...

Beaulieu C-Mount Adapter questions
Hi,
From my previous post, I'm interested in possibly getting a Nikon C-Mount Adapter for a Beaulieu 4008.
