here in calgary where we sadly live at the moment, there was actually a really good film festival in september, and as part of the festival there was a number of shorts (some of them 8mm) that were shown. that's as far as it goes for an 8mm competition.

i bought one of these from bart sanders (top guy) in the netherlands, and he recommended i didn't, advice i followed, mainly due to the difference in voltage. also, remember, that the cost of film is relatively much higher than the cost of the batteries. i've been using the same set of batteries for ...

Hey Super8Man, thanks a lot. I'll definitely use LocalLab for my next films and I'll try to find the place you mention close to the Husky building. If and when I do find it I'll let you know exactly where it is.

Cheers.

Hi Lucas,

I'm there with technicolor. It sounds like a great idea. Will it be possible to see the film, I'd even pay for it as I'm moving to Canada and won't get to see Spain before we leave.

Let me know, I could pay by sending you some cartridges or something.

Please excuse my ignorance, but so many times I read articles and I don't have a clue what they are talking about. This time I have decided to take the plunge and ask the question: what is a blimp?

Thanks

Hey Sonic Truth,

You don't have a projector. That's a real shame. I have just got back I think my 9th roll and it is so exciting as other people have said. If you didn't buy a projector because of cash I can recommend Bart Sanders as a source of relatively inexpensive equipment. I have bought two ...

There has been a few instances of Super 8mm popping up on TV recently. It would seem that Laurence-Lewellyn Bowen, the infamous for his fantastic and outrageous dress style [my opinion ;-) ] is a bit of a fan. When he was in Venice he shot some super 8mm - we saw him using the camera and we saw the ...

Anybody living in Vancouver?

Hi,

Is anybody who posts here living in Vancouver. We're emigrating there in a few weeks and would like to know what the scene is like. Can you buy K40/Tri-X from Kodak Canada as cheaply as Kodak US?

ps. to Bart Sanders, thanks for the cameras! Haven't filmed yet with the Bauer, but the Nizo came ...

Searching on Shooting 8mm

Hi Awand,

I tried to do a search for the cheapest place to buy K40 because I saw this topic before (it was somewhere in England) but when I entered K40 as the search criteria it said there were no matching results. Is the search facility working OK?

K40 Developing

I recently posted my first K40 to the address on the mailer in Belgium, and it was returned to me as the destination address was unknown. When I spoke to Bart Sanders he told me he posted it directly to Switzerland where it's processed because it's quicker so I've done that.

Question is: does ...

I haven't followed a lot of this discussion, but it all seems rather exciting and emotional to me as an Englishman.

ericmartinjarvies is, as has been observed before, extremely prolific in his writing and I kind of don't really know what to make of it all, partly because I don't have enough ...

Just bought a Bauer S209-XLS...

Hi everybody,

I recently purchased the above camera (and am waiting for delivery) and wondered if anybody has had any good or bad experiences with this particular machine. Any comments would be welcome.

I'm new to the world of 8mm, although my father filmed quite a lot in the 60's and 70's, and my ...
