I have a few cameras.

Nizo 4080 - very quiet, very nice. (I have heard that the Nizo sound line of cameras (6080, 6056, 4080) are so quiet because they use a rubber cord instead of metal gears for film-turning, but I've never opened mine up)

Canon 1014 AZ - very, very loud. Takes great pictures ...

Did someone delete the M. Moore thread or am I going blind?

Just curious. Posted today, gone tomorrow. I guess it is a little off the topic of super8 filmmaking, but I still think it relates to filmmaking. I mean, I think every filmmaker's views come across some way or another in their work.

I was not trying to start some flame thread, but rather ask the ...

Cool, let us now how things go!

There are always some great stories in the making of movies, you'll have to tell a few.

Hola!

The trailer looked really good. Where exactly are you from and where did you make the movie? How is it and how long did it take to make? What is it about?

Yo hablo espanol un poco, pero no comprendo sufficientemente la dialogo rapidamente. Buena suerte con su pelicula!

Here is the light meter I use. I like it. Never used digital though. I bought this one (Sekonic L-398M) on ebay for about $125 USD or so. If that is out of your budget, you can find a ton of light meters on ebay for like 10 or 15 bucks. You have to be ...

I always snipe. There are way too many people out there that will go crazy bidding and bid twice as much as they originally would once they see someone else is interested. Maybe it is a not-to-be-beaten sort of mentality.

Either way, wait as long as possible before placing your bid, preferably in ...

Hey everyone!

Cool to see eveyones shots. It amazes me how great the contrast of kodachrome can be. I've noticed that the majority of stuff people have put on this thread are outdoors shots. Does anyone have any *indoor* shots that have turned out more amazing than they could have expected? Just ...

Re: Got it

Thanks Moviestuff,
Now i understand all the work printer idea, but the fact that it gives better results won't help me. you see, the super8 thing is only a hobbie for now, and i can't spend thousand box on a machine like that.
is there a place, or maybe even you guys, where i can send my film and ...

I have a Nizo 4080 and I wondered the same question. The battery box says to use alkaline (1.5 V) batteries but the Nizo 6080 manual very directly says to use 1.2V batteries. I asked Dr. Peters who I bought my camera from and said he wasn't sure but thought that it doesn't matter which you use. I ...

Re: Camera w/ a powerful lens

Okay, this is going to be my first movie camera. I know the film basics, shutter speed, aperture. I need a camera with a powerful lens, somewhere around the 70-90mm range. The only ones I have found are the Canon 1218, and a nikon r10.

What are you planning on shooting? The reason I ask is ...

If you are planning on recording sound while you film, you HAVE to get the 6080 or 4080 or 6056, especially if you are filming indoors. They are the most quiet and will save you huge headaches.
Good luck.

I buy my film firectly from kodak, which ends up being about $12 a roll with s&h. I'd probably use pk-59 mailers if I was working on a project that used a lot of film. For now I just take my film to Walmart's overnight. It only costs $4.95 USD and you get the film back in 1-2 weeks. If you actually ...

Episode 2, Roger Ebert, and the shortcomings of digital

Hey everyone, I thought some might find this article by Roger Ebert on Star Wars Ep 2 interesting. He goes into detail about the use of digital video for the making of the film. Below I posted an excerpt from the full review.

Scott
