I do actually, and the side of the Sportster there has a quickie guide depending on time of day and where/what you're shooting. Just was trying to figure out if I should make extra adjustments based on the age of the film I'm using...and yes, I'm using that film instead of buying some new stuff. :)

Ahhhhh, okay! That makes sense...see, I'm still new those this whole non-digital format stuff. :) Any reason I should have to set the f-stops differently if the film is really old and prone to needing a lower ASA?

I don't have it here with me, but here's the original advert for it...

The Sportster's the one on the right, btw.

I know the side you can't see has a dial for frame rate and to tell you how many feet of film have been used so far ...

Question Re: Filmo Sportster

Hey guys,

Got a B&H Filmo Sportster circa 1948 at a garage sale this summer and I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the ASA setting...it kind of looks like it's built into the lens adjustment, but I just can't tell.

Thanks!

Okay, that's the kind of info I was looking for. Thanks! Lower ASA it is! I'll maybe try another roll under 25 ASA. I know I should just find some newer film, but I'm captain budget right now and I'm also just learning the ropes of 8mm.

BTW, I will have the footage you can see up as soon as I get ...

I'm using it because it was free, as was the camera. Just wanted to see what would come out. Don't have a project...was just shooting a test roll.

Tho I am considering taking the camera and film camping next month.

The question still stands...should I run the ASA lower or high based on the washed ...

I don't have it in digital yet. I'm just asking opinions based on my descriptions.

Shot My First Test Roll, Advice Needed.

Okay, so I got my first test roll back and this was film that should have been used and processed by 10/76. It was shot and developed in 7/06! Really, it was all very washed out and the colors were a little funny...at best you can see the last minute of film. Shot on a Bolex S1 with the ASA between ...

Weekend Score!

Hey guys,

I'd been looking for an 8mm projector on the cheap for a few weeks and got wind of an Estate Sale in my area on craigslist. The guy had a projector and a bunch of other stuff.

So I show up Saturday morning to buy just the projector for $50 and the guy turns around and offers me all the ...

when you go to walmart write "double 8mm movie film K-14 process (dwaynes)" in the special instructions box of the processing envelope.

I really tried to shoot just anything ...

Oooh, didn't see there was another page of posts! Thanks everyone!

The dial with 12, 18, and 40 on it makes sense...it's set to 18...or at least 18 is upright.

I've found that the winder does indeed stops on its own. Haven't forced it...she's a happy camera now.

And I'll test that trigger lock ...

The kodachrome is balenced for tungsten lights, if you use outside under sunlight, you will get odd color casts, unless you use a no.85 filter. If you shoot with the filter rate it at 25, without the filter 40. When you open the film could you take a picture of the end, see what the code printed ...
