It look like a really nice setup, but for a normal "home user" this is quite a lot of money anyway.

Is there any DIY TBC's or any kit's to buy? Anyone who know this?

Scart have Y/C, but will not be able to bring back colors on all video models. Can't explain why, but it is sure worth a try. My JVC managed to do this, but it is a S-VHS player though.

All your problems will be solved if you use a TBC (Time Base Corrector). Look at DataVideo's homepage. They are ...

Hello Patrick

I use a Canon MVX-100i for the moment. To minimize the wear on the rec/playback video head, I wind the DV tape to its very end and put the DV-cam in rec mode. Now it stops all mecanical parts and says: END OF TAPE. But this doesn't affect the Firewire pass-through that I use ...

True Mitch

I have a LCD-TV set, and all these lines are visable on it. Might be better to skip them as the new flat TV's are phasing out all old CRT sets (sadly, but this is my own opinion).

Fred.
Could you please upload a uncompressed, untouched AVI file somewhere? I'm really curious...

Keep on ...

Very nice job Fred!
I really like the construction of your light.
Is the U-shaped alu embedded with white plastic inside? Hard to see on the photo...
Why is there posebilities to adjust the lenght of the light tube? Is it for the light intensity?

Could you please send me some Hi-Res photos. I ...

Best program for pull-down?

Hello all!

What program is best for making a pull-down in speed on "frame by frame" grabbed Super-8?

For the moment I'm using the built in step-down in DodCap, but every third frame is always blurry then.

Any better suggestions, please... Thank you.

Hello Fred.
When you have time, try a C -> Nikon adapter and a Nikon macro lens for 35mm camera. This makes wonders, I'll promise that.
Hope you put up some samples soon.
Could you take some pictures of your LED-setup please. I'm curious.
Have a nice evening!

Hello again Fred.
Must ask you, your cam is it analog output? If so how on earth do you get so good A/D-convertion. I have tried several A/D-boxes and so on with not so good result. So I threw thew away and bought a similar cam like yours but with FireWire:
