Filmshooting

I am wondering the same thing. I used to frame-blend (interlace) everything via Dodcap for smoother playback on standard TV's. Am I better off keeping everything Progressive now (especially with the advent of the newer progressive scan TV's?)

I'm guessing that the newer HD camcorders will prove to be the way to go for HD transfers.

Actually, The Maranz does provide line-in phantom power. There's a switch to turn it on/off.

Usually I have it on for my paticular mic. However, I turn if off when I do Karaoke.

I just picked up a Marantz PMD660. It's a solid-state recorder that uses CF cards and will record at 48kHz and 44.1kHz uncompressed. There are XLR outs as well. It runs around $500.

so, a very high quality HDV workprinter transfer could look like this:
- capture single frames at 1080i (1440x1080 pixels with 1.33 aspect), (if you really want to max it, use the analog/HD-SDI output and an uncompressed capture card)

Wow. THat's a cool drill press! So you're thinking to mount the camera where the drill is? How would the projector mount?

I would think just to have the x/y platform to mount the camera on would be worth the price of admission!? Heck with the drill.
