Premiere cs5 is good.
But depending on your motherboard you may be able to turn your monster pc into a monster hackintosh. That way you can use FCP which I beleive is more stable than prem. But coming from a pc background I am a bit faster at editing premiere. I've been using the same ...

Re: DC Motor for DIY 16mm Telecine?
Hi guys
We just use motors from cordless 12volt drills. They have plenty of Torque and are cheap as. Our local rubbish tip/recycling place sell old ones for $5 each...or you can by brand new drills for $30. We then control the motor via a forward and reversible dc speed controller(from ebay)

Hi
I think shooting the white card is a good Idea...it works to. I white balanced of a white board and it worked fine. I think the camera must get fooled.

Hi Wade
Glad you liked that one! Is the macs secret weapon for us home telecine people. Exposure compensation is what I use on in the picture control menu.
I also use a brighter light for neg. We use a 12volt 50watt halogen sitting about 3inches from our defuser (white plastic vhs cover) sitting ...

Re: Attempting Home Telecine of Neg Stock, Tips?
Hi Wade
We transferred this standard8 neg this year. We found that our cameras both sony fx1 and a panasonic gs400 did a better job shooting without the incamera neg effect on.
If you transfer on a mac you can hit control+option+command+8 and it inverts the desktop. This does your neg reference so ...

Hi Guys
Here is some standard 8mm footage we shot with 16mm fuji 64d that we we had perforated by Edward Nowill this year. He did an outstanding job! We sent our fuji film from Australia and we had it back within 2weeks. Highly recommend him!

Hi Peaceman
We used the shutter. I actually just bought a raynox super macro202 lens to go on our hdv cam. I'll give that a go on the bellows. The nikon does lens look great. But Ill have to check again for any distortion but I never noticed any.

Re: Super8 signal processing
Oh forgot to mention . We have the projector being run by a 12volt cordless drill motor. This is controlled by a adjustable speed controller($15 from china) The microswitch triggers either the mouse to capture the raw with nikon capture. Or it controls the d70s wired remote. to is cf card. Its does ...

Hi Guys this is an interesting topic.
We built one of these for our nikon d70 and now our d90. But we shoot off the back of a working projector.(50watt halogen shooting from where the projector lens once was through a white opaque piece plastic (white box). We use a bellows with a reversed 35mm ...

Re: elmo 8 tl camera light meter repair?
Hi
The camera takes 4 AA batteries in both the mag and the body. The batteries fit in a brittle plastic holder for both. If you don't have the holder you could solder some wires onto the contacts and have the batteries attached to the outside if the camera. Does the light meter in your camera work?

elmo 8 tl camera light meter repair?
Hi guys
I've got a nice Elmo 8-tl motorised standard 8 camera with the 100ft mag thats running great! Only problem is the light meter on it.
It's a stupid design because, if the automatic light meter part of the camera is not working you cannot use it in manual mode either. Very annoying.
So I ...

Raynox 202 lens on a sony fx1 for telecine?
Hi guys
I've been trying to get our fx1 to be able to shoot the gate of our projector. I've cut the projector so it can get the camera close enough. We tried using several different 50mm slr lens's reversed. But It was a very fine line between annoying vignetting and other focus problems. But there ...

Hi Patrick, thanks for the feed back. Yes I like the way the neg captures colours its way different then reversal.
The dog jumping 64fps bit was a bit under exposed (the colour dropped off a bit) That was the cameras light meter lying to me.
This transfer was using a standard def 3ccd panasonic ...
