I also have been trying to get one for a while. It would be interesting to see the manual and indeed to hear a report of your telecine results using the machine. I am light of cash but I do have a spare Philips DVD 1000 mark 1 DVD Recorder if your interested.

mpeg 2 encoding

A most interesting discussion. Any thoughts on taking a telecine feed from mini dv cam phono outputs directly into a dvd writer with mpeg 2 encoding and capturing directly onto dvd? In my view (and I am only a novice in this area!) there are 2 limiting factors the capture abilities of the camera and ...

thanks to all who made a contribution I appreciate the time you have taken to help me. On a slightly subsidiary question the films were also scratched and I hear that there used to be a film cleaner known as Liquid Blue which could help remove some of the scratches but apparently this is not ...

distressed sprockets

a few of my favourite super 8 films got damaged a while ago. I think the term for the damage is distressed sprockets. Basically the film will be 'jittery' when projected in parts where the sprockets have been damaged. Anybody have experience of this and how this might be repaired? All tips would be ...

One other thing. If I was creating a NTSC DVD disc I would use a signal converter to transfer my Pal input signal to a NTSC input to create a NTSC DVD Disc. The signal conversion can be carried out using a multi system signal converter VCR.

you want a dvd writer that can write region zero discs as these will play on players from region 1 (usa) or region 2 (Europe). Region zero are region free and will play anywhere (for example commercial pornos and some of the laurel and hardy commercial dvd transfers). But before buying your dvd ...

I forgot to add, but maybe you know this already, but you can get a ntsc to pal converter and vice versa and I dont think they are too costly. You could use that piece of kit to convert the signal out of your camcorder.

the Phillips DVDDR 1000 allows you to create a dvd which is either entirely a ntsc disc or entirely a Pal disc. so you certainly could upload your footage to Dvd from a camcorder whatever the system. The disc would be a DVD+RW disc which would play on most dvd players and indeed stereophile guide to ...

I say your advert on e-bay a while ago, with regard to the beaulieu 708el regarding telecine with the addition of the 2 bladed shutter avaliable do you have to switch shutters to use the 708el for telecine? If so how do you change the bladed shutter? hence the reason to see the manual ...

projector blues

Presumably, it is not something as simple as adjusting the framer control knob on your projector? Difficult to give you help as to where that button might be on your projector but it is usually a rotatable knob on the facia of your projector.
Hope this helps you somewhat!
