Mr. Skull, we do have requests like this from time to time. We can output the transfer to sequential TIFF's (1920x1080, each file is approximately 4 MB).

We're not in LA, but we do offer high-resolution telecine from 16mm film. We're out of Northbrook, IL and have a fast turnaround so that should offset the time that shipping takes. Below is a sample of our 16mm to HD work. Contact me at eugene@filmtransfer.com with any questions and visit my site ...

Cineform offers an interesting codec that is HDV but with an .avi wrapper. I haven't tried it personally, but it might be an option for capturing stop-motion via firewire to their codec.

Yeah, we've gone waaaaaayyy past 100 units. I think we have passed the 2000 unit mark but, honestly, we've just been so damned busy building and shipping units and doing R&D on our new HD units that I haven't had time to do an accurate count. But I'm fairly ...

My company actually captures uncompressed HD and outputs to HDV, which is the same workflow as someone transferring to BetaSP and copying to MiniDV.
no, that's not analogous at all. you're confusing tape formats with data formats, plus "capturing", "outputting", "copying" and "transferring" refer ...

Well in any business it is important to fulfill demand, that's where our HD transfers come in. If somebody is comparing different companys services and is disappointed that one professional telecine house doesn't offer HD yet, and another company does, then those customers that want HD will elect ...

I think my evaluations have been blown out of proportion. I was comparing my own in-house HD tranfsers to SD transfers on other systems. I didn't say my HD is better than a Spirit HD telecine. It is a fact though that people prefer higher resolutions. That's why people are upgrading to HDV which is ...

Here's the link if anyone's interested in seeing what I'm talking about - http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1620686,00.asp . I don't exaggerate, I say it how it is. The CRT tubes in a lot of Rank's are outperformed in terms of quality with a lot of the modern chip technologies. The dynamic range ...
