Since it's a mono mic, why would 5 pins be necessary? I've noticed quite a bit of wow/flutter. I have a service manual but it doesn't mention how to adjust this.
It's a DIN-plug which provides 5 contacts and with a tape-recorder one such plug for playback and recording instead of four RCA-plugs ...

Isn't the supply of Velvia 50 rather limited as production of master rolls has been discontinued?

Evan Kubota wrote:I have an S8 also. I seem to recall it handling faster films also (200 ASA?) but I can't find the info in the manual. Maybe the inside of the film chamber is labeled.
Judged by the travel of the lever in the film chamber it should even handle ASA 400 but I rather trust the manual.

Re: Zeiss Ikon S8 Question

I want to use the cam with E64T as well as the Pro8 negative stocks, and I was hoping any of you who own the cam or have worked with it could share your experiences.

I have an S8, nice cam. The manual says the camera will handle tungsten films up to 100 ASA and (accordingly) daylight films up to ...

That's exactly how the Hama lenspen works and less odd than it seems, obviously.

The stuff sold in the yellow bags nowadays is different from the original formula, and more closely resembles D-76d, which is slightly lower contrast, and produces results rather close to D-96 (although they are not the same formula).
I used D76 as well as D76d made from the published formulas as ...

Are you trying to record new material, or merely rip off existing material? If the former, you need to look at production gear; it's more expensive but gives you control over setting/removing those copy bits.

If the latter, please stop that, it's rude and illegal. Not in all parts of the world. I ...

I think your best bet is to avoid cleaning your lenses if possible. Keep a UV protector on at all times. To keep the UV lens clean, use a brush and a lens pen. At one time I had a highly reputed and tack sharp prime-lens which became rather succeptible to flare any time I used a UV-filter on it ...

BTW,
Anybody knows some "three-steps" or less complicate B&W reversal processing?
A close friend looked into this for a while but with bw its either more than three steps or nasty and hard to get chemistry which are needed to do the reversal by chemistry rather than second exposure and ...

Re: lense cleaning methods

I'm curious on what kind of material you guys use to clean your camera lenses. What are your preferences?

To me the most important point is to use a shade at all times, a lens cap if the camera is not in use and not to be paranoid. Remember that most lenses aren't damaged in use but while ...

Angus, didn't you say that Kodachrome still photography is still extensively used by professional photographers, such as those working for National Geographic ?

That's what happened a quarter of a century ago.

Not exactly, according to Kodaks statements for there reasons to discontinue K40. The DV-era also took its toll tand this was it for K40.

We know that press announcement. I don't know anyone who believed in that part of it before you.
If there ...

when they'd caught up on that in late 2003, pre-paid K40 was 18 Euros.
There is little point in discussing where the price for K40 would have gone if Kodak hadn't discontinued it. We will never know.

K40 wasn't discontinued in or before late 2003.
I know. But aren't you trying to say the rise ...
