Super 8mm film for "On the Lot"

Hi,

I recently entered a short experimental/documentary film that I shot of my friend to the Spielberg/Mark Burnett show "On the Lot". I really have no intention of trying to win (not that I'd even come close). I entered it without really thinking about the contest itself. It was just fun to do so ...

Wow, that was a nice telecine transfer! Can you tell us who Kent is and how much it would cost per roll transfer? I'm interested. Thanks! Great video. Can't wait to see the rest.

Ralphs/Dwayne's does not develop E64T

Hi everyone,

I've been away from the forum for a bit but I don't know if this has already been discussed. I just got my E64T film back from Ralphs (sent to Dwayne's) and it wasn't processed. There was a note stating that the development for Ektachrome movie film is not available. My K40 (sent at ...

Your opinion on the Canon 1014e

Hi, I'd like to get some opinion, feedback and maybe examples of film shot on the canon 1014e. How is the quality of the camera and lense, etc.? I know it's no comparison with the canon XLS models but is it worthwhile to even shoot new film stock like E64T on it?

I think your best bet is to avoid cleaning your lenses if possible. Keep a UV protector on at all times. To keep the UV lens clean, use a brush and a lens pen.

If you see some dust on your lens, use a blower brush to spiff it up. For major cleaning, I use just a bit of lens solution and a 3M ...

lense cleaning methods

I'm curious on what kind of material you guys use to clean your camera lenses. What are your preferences?

Wow, that's awesome.

While Spielberg is producing the Transformers movie, the Japanese are actually making them. I guess we'll see a life-size transformer within our lifetime.

Can you say "More Than Meets The Eye"?

Thanks for sharing.

From what I've gathered, my video will probably be a little slower after the film chain transfer.
Yes, by about 4 seconds an hour. Follow tlatosmd's advice and you'll work it out.

Thanks guys. .1% shouldn't be too big of a problem. My short won't run over 10 minutes. It's good to know all this ...

Wow, thanks guys. I think I'm going to have to reread everything to grasp this stuff. It was quite educational. So from what I've gathered, my video will probably be a little slower after the film chain transfer. Hmmm...I guess I'll have to figure out how to synch up my audio. Maybe I'll have to ...

It depends what you mean by "telecined it to mini-DV."

If you're projecting film onto a wall and shooting it with a video camera, the speed will appear correct, although there will be some flicker.

If you're using something like a Workprinter or high-end telecine, each frame of your movie will ...

I've wondered this as well. I'm not crystal'd so I'm not running at exactly 24fps....I look forward to finding out the answer too.

Aseesl8er , are you a fan of Saved By The Bell ?

Haha, yes, I was once a fan. But my friends gave me that nickname after the character. Not because I resemble Mario ...

framerate question

If I shot footage at 24fps, then telecined it to mini-DV, then played it back on my miniDV camcorder, would the framerate of the footage change since it's in dv? video is for the most part 30fps. Would the new video come out a little bit faster than what I shot?

Canon Wide Attachment C-8

I have a Canon wide attachment for camera. In the instructions, it says not to use any filters with the attachment or else vignetting will occur. What's the best way to shoot E64T with this attachment if I can't use a 85B filter? I guess I can always use the built in filter. Any suggestions?

That was a great trailer. =) Can't wait to see the film.

Anyway, what was the technique in getting it to high def? Also, did you use a rank for telecine?

Please advise what does ADR stand for...

Maybe I knew, but I forgot... and wish to prevent embarrassment by a wrong guess...

Gianni

ADR stands for Additional Dialogue Recording...I think. It's used mostly in anime when the shows are being dubbed in english. Also, it's used for parts of film ...
