I didn't know one had to have a large number of posts before one knew what they were talking about. I'll just start posting everyday until I get an acceptable number. Thanks. Hey, I'm up to 13 now.

Mitch

I think you're wasting your breath, which is fun to do sometimes, but in this situation you're talking to individuals who obviously are very limited in their knowledge of filmmaking, and probably only got involved because it sounded like a cool thing to do. They hit their limit once they ...

I said that there is no point in having them on a Super8 camera.

This is why he'll be shooting simple ass snow shots, that require no real technical application, while others are trying to push the format in different directions.

Super Nigel- How about this waste of time? Man, what idiot would use this, huh? You should write these guys and fill them in on how stupid they are for trying to be something they're not, like 16mm or 35mm, I'm sure they'll appreciate it.

Well it's not actually cheaper. You still have to purchase the battery pack designed for the motor which runs about $225 if you go with the recommended charger, but the nice thing is that it's interchangeable between cameras.

It's actually comfortable to hold and the motor doesn't throw it off balance too much. It gives you something to hold onto if you don't have a shoulder mount.

I realize not everyone would choose this route, I just thought I'd let people know it's possible.

Crystal Sync motor for Beaulieu 4008

Thought maybe some people would be interested to know that the Tobin TXM-20Ba crystal sync motor works great on the Beaulieu 4008 cameras with the sound sync shaft via a mounting plate.

All functions of the camera are done away with because the motor runs off it's own power supply, but no big loss ...

Beaulieu 4008 rod support

I've been a devoted Super 8 user since my college days and it's exciting to see the support and options that are becoming more readily available for the format today. I've spent some time designing a rod support for my 4008, and I'm curious to know if others would find something like this to be a ...

Beaulieu 4008

Does anyone need a wedge that would fit onto the bottom of the handle of a Beaulieu 4008 to correct the angle, so the lens would be level for use with a rod support?

Rod support

Does anyone need a rod support for a Beaulieu 4008? It works with the camera's handgrip left in place.
