I have four S8 Plus-X carts unopened in my fridge that I bought Oct '07 but I no longer have a S8 camera! Anyone willing to trade me one (or two ) 100ft sealed Plus-X or Tri-X 16mm? I need something to test out my bolex that has been sitting in my closest since 2005.

Well I paid $120 for it on ebay back in 2006. You should keep checking daily.

I've been trying for the last couple weeks to save some cash on the side to make it down there Steve but I'm tied down by rent. If something comes up that I can attend the Saturday showing, I'll make sure to give a first hand report in this thread!

Wal-Mart also announced full Blu-Ray support (dropping HD-DVD in the process) in the past couple days.

It says "orimage" something or another I believe. My japanese is rusty.

The Sony WM-D6C is a good choice. Expect to pay a lot though.

My 814xl-s hasn't let me down yet but I always let it run without a cart for about 15 seconds to let the motor warm up a bit. Although the camera never saw much use from the original owner, it still is older than I, so caution must be maintained!

I think my bolex h16 needs a good lube job but ...

Be careful with RAID-0. I lost over 300 gigs of data due to one of the drives crashing (Western Digital SATA 300 drive). Just a word of caution especially with such sensitive data (although I suppose you could just re-transfer losing time).

Fuji is selling Velvia 50 again if anyone hasn't noticed by now. I have to shoot the half dozen or so rolls of RVP100 before I can order some though. :roll:

I think that's the motor that maximises and minimises the shutter. Mine only lasts the few seconds it takes to expand. I'm thinking something is wrong with your camera.

I'm not really concerned about grain too much. I think super8 would look pretty cool in a club over minidv or whatever else they want me to use.
