Sharpen Ciro Splicer Cutting Blade?

I have a Ciro Super-8 tape splicer that my father bought new in 1983. It was used regularily until about 1986, then just kept in its box until I decided to start shooting again in '04.

While the splicer is in mint condition, the cutting blade is no longer sharp. Have any of you ever tried to ...

Not quite useless. My question - where can you get 7240 developed nowadays? I thought processing had gone away by now.

Forde Motion Picutre Labs still processes this film:

I've never had them process any film, as 7240 just isn't my thing. I have heard ...

I think the Nizo Integral series is an absolute miracle of industrial design. Clean, sleek, and absolutely contemporary after 25 years. I don't think this series gets the respect it deserves because the cameras were designed with a simplicity befitting a well-heeled photography neophyte. Still, it's ...

This address works fine:

Kodak Mailer Processing
C/O District Photo
PO Box 3022
Beltsville, MD 20705

I confirmed this number with Kodak before sending off my prepaid Kodachrome, and received two batches (11 rolls total) back with no problems.

The film is being sent to Switzerland now, so ...

I was not familiar with this type of measurement, so I did some research. Here's a pretty good article:

http://www.normankoren.com/Tutorials/MTF.html

"Cycles" refers to frequency. For example, In the U.S. the electrical current alternates at 60 Herz or 60 Cycles per second; in Europe, it ...

AC faithfully includes an index in each Dec. issue covering the previous year. I've never seen it indexed anywhere else other than the Reader's Guide to Periodical down at the library. Of course, using the Reader's Guide means knowing the personality, film, etc you're interested in reading about.

I used some all-purpose glue - the kind that remains flexible when dry.
Now that's good info. Thanks!

Nizos have two teeny-tiny springs mounted behind the film gate to tension the film guide. If these get loose while you're removing the gate, you'll need a team of elves with magnifying glasses to find them. A (really) tiny dab of glue will hold them in place and allow them to function when ...

Most years, I'm fortunate enough to attend one or two Green Bay games at Lambeau Field. Each time, I always make it a point to seek out the NFL Films crews. Usually, I see two, though at a playoff game a couple years ago there were five; I saw them midfield in a pregame huddle of sorts. All Arri ...

I can't imagine why Dwayne's couldn't offer a mailer. In the 35mm slide processing arena, you can go to B&H Photo (http://www.bhphoto.com) and get prepaid mailers from Kodak for Kodachrome film and an indpendent lab named A&I for E6 processing. There's proof enough that independent labs are willing ...

I'd do exactly what I do with film -- bust my ass to make it as good as possible within its (admitedly pretty serious) limitations.

Which raises another question I never seem to see discussed. Are we really so anti-digital because of the digital storage medium, or the lackluster ability of CCDs to ...

I haven't shot any K40 movie film in the last few months, but have been sending quite a few rolls of K64 & 200 35mm film out for processing via Osco Drugs this summer. All the rolls were back in one week, with the exception of the last I sent out 10 days ago.

I began to suspect that the delay might ...

It very well may be. I don't have any experience with the 4056, but do use an Integral 10, which does have this this type of shutter release. Since the 4056 is a more "feature rich" camera, it wouldn't surprise me if this type of release is included.

Here's a link on this site to the manual for the ...

One big bonus of switching to an E-6 process film would be an enterprising shooter such as a Paul Cotto or a Roger Evans could come up with a home Super-8 processing machine that offers much better results than tank processing.

This probably wouldn't be a machine for everyone, but something more ...

I don't recall hearing any specifics about this, but it may have to do with the Vision film being a different thickness than the Kodachrome & Ektachrome films the cartridges were originally designed for.
