Re: Bauer Royal 6E macro

You will definitely be glad once you get the manual -- I was lucky the 10e Makro I have came with the original manual. It's very easy to get confused as to what's going on since the camera doesn't label anything--just letters or symbols.

Last week I got confused when doing a simple timelapse in ...

Re: Gauging Exposure With a DSLR

Be careful with using DSLR as an exposure meter unless you've tested this well with your particular camera. The biggest problem is that what you see on your LCD screen may or may not be correctly exposed, depending on how accurate your DSLR's LCD is. At least view your test images with the ...

Re: Best camera for long exposure time lapse?

If you don't want to wait, here's a pristine Bauer Royal 8E Macro at the Super8Exchange:

Not cheap at 79 British Pounds, but hard to find these in this condition.

Re: Best camera for long exposure time lapse?

Although getting hard to find in good condition, the newer Bauer Royal series have all the features you could want. I have the 8e Makro and it's a great camera -- easy to hold, and can do just about everything. Mine has the Neovaron 7.5-60mm with macro to front of lens.

See Super8 Man's great ...

Re: 8mm camera info

My Beaulieu M8 Reflex shares the standard d-mount with a Bolex H8 (non reflex). Here's a pic of mine:

The two guys that started this business were on CNN. They are Polaroid "freaks" that started a Polaroid museum and built it into any online distributor and boutique for many discontinued Polaroid products, such as film for SX-70 cameras.

I have purchased film from them and it arrived from Europe ...

Yes you can do time lapse with auto "bulb" exposure for each frame -- Bauer C Royal cameras can. I'm just now experimenting with my 10e Makro. Great camera that can be found cheap if you search!

I love Regular8, and primarily shoot with two great cameras, both very different from each other: a Bolex H8 and a Beaulieu MR8 Reflex.

The Bolex is a professional camera and functions flawlessly. The Switar 5.5mm is an awesome lens.

The Beaulieu MR8 is about the sexiest camera you can shoot with ...

I really like the camera, but it does attract a crowd, as it is both eye-catching in design, and from a distance tends to look like some sort of gun with a fat barrel (not good here in DC!!).

It does require more winding than my Bolex, but I'm getting used to it. The lens is great, and I'm really ...

Beaulieu MR8 fun!

I finally received my Beaulieu MR8 from a fellow in France. It has a beautiful zoom Angenieux 5.5-25mm retro focus lens with the original metal lens cap. Of course, the auto-exposure batteries were in the camera but quite dead - I'm looking for replacements (not that auto anything is needed). The ...

Beaulieu MR8 regular8 camera questions

Just bought a really nice Beaulieu MR8 regular 8mm from a person in France. Camera looks to be in excellent condition, and it has the desirable Angenieux variable zoom lens.

Does anyone know if the lens mount is bayonet or threaded? I was wondering if it's possible to use the Angenieux lens on ...

I love using my Bolex H8, not only because I use a lot of fine manual still cameras like Rolleiflex, but also the quality is excellent. I think my H8 was a steal on ebay for $120 in superb condition, with the 5.5mm Switar and two Yvars. Shooting with the 5.5mm at f8 is basically infinite depth of ...

Re FomaPan R-100

I have shot one roll of FomaPan R-100 in my Bolex H8. I will be sending my film to DR5 for development since I think they are the best at reversal developing.

I do plan on trying the other regular8 films available -- it just so happens FomaPan was first. 8) [/u]
