So what you're saying is this is some sort of "testing phase?" Is Fuji thinking of entering the Super 8 market? Or, did you or someone you know just talk them into a special order? I'm not sure I would be interested right now, because of the price, but if they start making them in batches, and the ...

I've only done preliminary checks on using Wal-Mart in my area (Dallas). I've visited two of the Wal-Marts in the area to have a look at the photo booth area. Sure enough, in the pamphlet was listed "Movie Film Processing" for $4.95. Asking the person behind the counter, though, is a whole 'nother ...

So, if you're saying you don't have a super-8 camera yet, and would have to buy one, then I suppose it could get somewhat expensive, depending on the camera you wanted. (Beaulieus cost an arm and a leg, for example.) But as far as film and processing, I have decided that it's not entirely that ...

Shooting with Tri-X Reversal

I've never shot with Tri-X reversal before. I have a package here though that I want to use, but I need some advice before shooting (so as not to waste it.)

I need to do an indoor shot. If I use standard lighting in the house, put the exposure index on my camera all the way up, and the light meter ...

Hey guys. First of all, thanks for the advice! I never really knew what steps to take or what kinds of chemicals to use on corrosion. (Except for battery terminals on a car- we always use Pepsi-Cola :)
But, I feel I should explain further- in my haste I kind of forgot to do so. The 814 has a handle ...

Bought a Canon 814 Autozoom off eBay

For $36 bucks. By all accounts a steal. Once I had it shipped, though, I opened up the battery compartment to find massive corrosion. However, I cracked it open, got out the trusty bottle of WD-40, and voila! the motor works again. Except-- only at 12 and 24 frames per second. The previous owner ...

Jay,

I couldn't tell you exactly whether the report is true or not. Even if it is, you would probably have to confirm it by calling Kodak as opposed to on-line. Plus, it may be that they haven't initiated the sale just yet. You could e-mail the guy who made the original post: Chris Cottrill - chris ...

OK, I see what you mean. Well, I wonder if using my student ID at Kodak will still work with this bit of news:

Hmm..so if I were to break out the trusty student ID...and visit my local Wal-Mart, I might be able to find the best of both worlds.

Jessh -

Well, shipping the mailers cost me $8.35 via UPS. Basically, it varies as to where you live in the U.S. I noticed that you can get up to 30 of those little buggers and the shipping is still the same.

Once you get the mailers, you put 2 or 3 stamps on them and send them off with your ...

However, you might note that on the film, I got cartridges in the "range" of the Jitter serial numbers. For me, personally, I don't mind, especially at that price. You could call ahead and ask them to give you serial numbers ...

Cheapest K40 and PK-59 mailers?

So far the cheapest I have found (for us in the USA) is $9.18 USD for K40 and $5.50 USD for the mailers. Can anyone tell me if it is lower somewhere else? I enjoy finding bargains.

P.S. For the prices listed above, I can make a half hour movie for 150 bucks. ;)

A Minolta, a GAF, and a Bell & Howell for the cameras. Natural sunlight and occasional halogens for the lighting. Also - really crummy actors, sets, and direction. But the cinematography is smashing! :D

I've decided to use all my jitter carts for stock shots, i.e. various lengths of footage that I can put into any of my short features, if the setting calls for it. Better than throwing them out with the trash. Plus, as I was saying earlier, 24fps seems to get the kink out of them...for sure during ...
