from the first camera? that's very odd. what goes out through firewire is exactly the same whether you copy to a computer or another camera. or perhaps i misunderstood and you used the second camera, but if so can't you just use the first tape in that without copying?

Thanks for all the advice, We've just finished editing (two cam method). The finished product is a bit rough round the edges, but this being my first serious super8 project I'm quite pleased with the results.

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the replies.
It is a minidv tape, at least that's what's printed on the front. It works fine with a tape shot in the camera.
We tried two different camera's and three different computers with different versions of premiere installed with the same results.
