Actually, I have to shoot that film for the straight 8. What about an alternative camera option that I can get rather quickly and not cost an arm and leg? Maybe something with Macro? Intervalometer of possible.

Canon 512XL Electronic is on that list. I asked about that earlier and there were a few differing opinions. Anyway, I'm shooting for a straight 8 conest so won't be able to see the results, that's why I'm asking rather than just testing myself.

Thanks for the link!

ektachrome 64 what super8 cameras will expose it correctly?

I mean, any super8 cameras that are relatively inexpensive that will expose it correctly?

Thanks!

Canon 514 XLS and ektachrome 64

This is my first attempt at shooting super 8mm, so I'm wondering...

will a Canon 514 XLS work with ektachrome 64?

I need to shoot a quick project on that stock and I picked up one of those cameras so hopefully the two can mate. I mean, I wouldn't have thought about it but now I read how many ...

Just saw 1st disk of unseen cinema and those early filmmakers seem to use mattes every 5 minutes for some in camera effect or another.

On this matte box, you can set it so that the zoom lever is behind the matte box. Then you could theoretically zoom through the keyhole and keep focus. If a ...

I see I see. So the glass with dot to blot out exposure and then the matte to expose just that area.

So are the acetate sheets that normally come with the matte box for titles or what? Would one need a super speed macro lens for that to work?

I think D19 is a standard for higher contrast reversal films and it can be used as first and second developer.

I just bought a Tmax kit for lack of other options at the moment so we'll see how that goes.

Wow, how old is your bolex? I've seen a few from the 50's that had those smaller, rounded gelatin filter holders.

Bolex Matte Box Ideas

I finally have a Bolex matte box and I was wondering where I can get some instructions (online or book?) or does anyone have any interesting ideas for what to do with it? I was thinking some simple split screen matte shots but I'm exploring my options. Since I saw this Man Ray film on DVD where he ...

I think the rex 5s are sought after more for the capability to use magazines. Most people who I know that have them never use the magazines but like the idea of being able to expand their camera into a "professional" set up.

They are fine if you can afford to get them up and running, just too loud ...

Thanks for the Nizo info. I might get one eventually. For now I'll stick with 16mm since I just bought 50 x 100' rolls of tri x off ebay.

Does anyone do titles with a matte box or titler? I kind of like the look of real titles? What kind of high contrast black and white film stock would be good to ...
