Rusty, how you been? I quit VU but lurk every once and again. Nothin really to see for me, but I'm curious how things shook out in the Members Only area.
The 'Members Only' section is top secret...I can't discuss it here. 8) j/k. It's just like a mix between the O.T. and Wedding/Event forums. It ...

Setting the camera up the first time is tricky, but once you figure it out, it's no big deal anymore. I really just got the WorkPrinterXP for fun stuff, but I like it so much, I really wish I would have got the Sniper instead, so I wouldn't have to break out all my video gear. Who knows, I may have ...

Technicolor 800 projector: 8mm or Super8?
Sorry for the dumb question, but does anyone know if these play 8mm or Super8, or both?
There are a bunch for sale on eBay, and I thought it would be a cool match for my Technicolor Super8 camera; they have that cool retro/Jetsons look.
It would be nice if I could actually use it to ...

Storing K40 in the refridgerator?
I'm thinking about buying a bunch of K40, just in case the new 64T is disappointing.
I see that many people keep their film in the fridge.
When I get a beer out of the fridge, it instantly gets covered with condensation.
Doesn't moisture turn the film emulsion into glue? Do you have to warm the ...

Thanks a million for all the help.
I just picked up a like-new Kodak Universal (R8/S8/16) Splicer plus some "extras" for like $20 on eBay.
Of course, right after I paid for the auction, I looked in my camera collection...in addition to the vintage Cine-Kodak Junior Splicer, I have a Sears & Robuck ...

Re: super 8 HDV
I ordered a WorkPrinter for my Super8 film, and should be getting an HDV FX1 or Z1 within the next few months. I'm going to do a comparison between my VX2000 and the FX1 with the WorkPrinter. Of course, using a 16x9 HDV cam to capture 4:3 Super8 might lose some of the resolution of the HDV, but it ...

Splicing Super8...what to use?
I have a vintage Cine-Kodak Junior Splicer, but would rather keep it boxed up with the camera it came with.
Is it okay to just use Kodak PressTape to splice Super 8, or should I find another splicer to glue the pieces together. I'm not using splices to edit a movie, but just telecine only, so I don ...

Thanks for the suggestions. It's like 55mm outter diameter. There's a small lip and three lugs around the edge, which I guess held the orginal on. I guess I'll get an aftermarket one and make it work, as I hate shooting without one on my digital cams.
As for the eyepiece, I guess I'll try a camera ...

Where to find rubber lens hood and eyecup for Zeiss Ikon S8?
I have a Zeiss Ikon Voigtlander Super8mm, in great conditon, and I'd like to actually start shooting stuff with it, rather than just displaying it in my collection.
Anyways, like many of my cameras, the rubber pieces are long gone. I'd like to shoot with a lens hood, but the lens has no ...
