Re: Safety when using Foma R100 kit
Processing colour movie film yourself in a Lomo tank is doable; the chemistry is easily available for E6 colour reversal (tetenal kit for example). Modern colour neg movie film eg Kodak Vision is ECN2 process and can also be processed as C41 (also in a tetenal kit) providing you are happy with the ...

Re: 3d printed super8 cartridge asa plug
I like this 3D printed reel - very neatly done - but am I right in thinking it is a modern version of a split reel? This is a metal film reel which can be opened into to halves, into which you load a film on a core. Then you close and lock the reel, and can run the film in a projector. We use them ...

Re: Our first home brew super8 developing
I like the look of the Kodachrome in BW - was this processed to neg or as reversal? I have been experimenting with this myself. The Remjet is quite easy to remove with a sponge, providing you soften it up with a presoak (borax or washing soda solution) ... but you MUST NOT get any remjet on the ...

Re: processing labs in UK
Can confirm that Gauge Film (they have a website and advertise on that auction site) do their own processing and will do both colour reversal (E6) and BW reversal. You can also take films to the Widescreen Centre shop in central London, although they send all processing out elsewhere.

Wonderful stuff. I'm not surprised it has gone, though - was only a matter of time. I have a few rolls left in the fridge but that's the end of it.

Re: Shipping films UK to Europe... how ?
I would concur with the above... I think this is largely urban myth. There might be a very slight risk of fogging with the highest speed films (Delta 3200 etc) if passed thru an unusually high dose of x-ray radiation, but personally I've never had one single instance of fogged film in years of ...

Re: what double 8 and double super 8 film do you wish existe
If you have double perf acetate base 16mm film , you can get this reperfed to Double 8 by a chap in London, Ed Nowill. He has reperfing equipment set up in his workshop. He also sells Double 8 stocks on 25ft daylight spools. PM me for his contact details if interested.

Re: Expired kodachrome 40 film
K40 movie film can be developed quite well into BW, in fact I have been doing this myself just lately, experimenting with a bunch of K40 super 8 carts I picked up cheaply on the autction site. I use a Lomo tank and normal BW reversal chemistry. The results are so far encouraging, with a distinct ...

thanks v much for this info - most useful to know about the bleach step prob not being at fault!
sadly i have binned the film but i can tell you that only the perf side was black, slightly unevenly, as you would expect where it has been seated in the spiral away from the chemical. the rest of the ...

BW Reversal Processing Query
Folks
A quick processing query - I was recently doing a test run processing some Svema BW Super 8 in a spiral tank, using the Kodak reversal chemistry kit, and the film came out almost completely clear, with only faint images. I was distracted during the processing by some family business, however ...

Which BW S8 films have an anti-halation layer?
quick question...
which BW super 8 films have an anti-halation (remjet) back layer? I'm looking to home-process the newer Tri-X and the outdated Quarzchrome stock that is sold cheap (GBP2.50/cart!) by the Widescreen Centre in London. I'm using a Lomo 15m tank.
any ideas? and if the remjet is ...

The Russian spiral tanks might not be that uncommon. I bought a Russian S8 tank (not actually a LOMO but very similar) on eBay for GBP £40 earlier this year, which I thought was about as much as I'd want to pay for such an item. There were three up for auction at that time and they all fetched ...
