Re: 64t Cross-processed, super cool! sample posted

Justin-

Was the music video "Fake Empire" shot entirely on Super 8? Do you have any 64T samples that you've transferred?

Thank you.

Re: 16 mm. What camera to buy

I have a Canon Scoopic MS that I bought many years ago and it's still in mint condition. I've considered selling it several times because I don't use it much anymore, but just can't force myself to let it go.

They're great cameras. Rock steady, built like tanks and ever reliable. I have a couple of ...

The MS doesn't have the mini-plug to which you refer. It does have a connection for the remote (run-stop) and shoots single frames, but no mini plug jack.

The gear should compliment the story, but great gear isn't going to turn a bad story into a good one. If that was the case, the 400 or so films that Hollywood turns out every year would all be works of art. They do, afterall, use the finest gear available, yet the majority of their movies suck.

I've been told by Walmart that Fujifilm is the "middleman" between them and Dwayne's. Imagine that. Fuji working to have Kodak film processed. Strange, huh? Does Dwayne's process Fuji film?

I haven't used it for years, but I have that camera.

If you don't want to play with the exposure, use a 2x ND filter as has been suggested. That'll get you within 1/3 stop. Add a 1x UV filter and you're right on.

Simple manual solution: Focus on your subject. Get the reading with the internal ...

If you don't mind cartoonish looking storyboards, Storyboard Artist and FrameForge 3D are feature packed.

If you're looking for a storyboard artist, some good ones can be found at storyboardsinc.com . They're not inexpensive, but again, some are quite good.

Could be the settings or it could be that you're using a different camera as a deck.

What release of Premiere are you using?

Have you verified that your capture card is Premiere compatible?

Are you able to capture ANY type of video with Premiere/Movie Maker, ie., Hi8, video cassette tape, etc ...

It's essential to Kodak to stay in business. Hence, my point. They're not going to spend a fortune on a segment of their business that brings in little revenues when compared to other avenues I'm sure they're exploring.

But would it really cost a fortune to fix? Everyone keeps saying that over ...

I've been shooting Super 8 a while and frankly, I don't understand the point of this discussion. Most here know there is and has been a problem with jitter, yet some have relied upon it to capture important footage.

I disagree with that sentiment.

You disagree that most know there's been a ...

Super 8 is fun.

It used to be more fun.

It is what it is

But not what it used to be.

and it's like any other product, film related or not, you get what you pay for.

Actually, you get less. Super 8 used to cost less and be better. It now costs more and is worse.
