Gimme a break. What a scam! Ol' P.T. Barnum speaks from the grave once again. "There's a sucker born every minute"!

After years and years of gettin' filthy rich making money off the filmmaking community, can't they give something back for once, just once?

"Film Festival Challenge"? Why not just ...

How are they compared to Spectra Film & Video? I'd like 2 labs for comparison.

Haven't yet tried Cinelab, but I can highly recommend Spectra. They have one of the best staff's to work with than anyplace I've ever used for processing and/or telecine. They're knowledgeable, courteous and very eager ...

Wow! 30% student discounts from kodak? I always thought it was only around 20%, which isn't bad, but 30% is sweet.

I've heard from a good source that Spectra bought Stewart Copeland's Sankyo 620XL Supertronic from him and they're now selling it on their website. So I went online and checked http://www.spectrafilmandvideo.com/Cameras.html and sure enough they have that same camera model for sale. So that might ...

Alex,

Let's see:

Helikeme would sound pretty gay

Shelikeme would sound pretty egotistical

And Kidslikeme sounds like Michael Jackson!

But I'll give it some thought.

hehehehe,

I guess kidshateme didn't make the cut.

I like your description of their process, is this a one of a kind super-8 rank gate they have made, or is it an entirely different process from rank? If they have something unique and better, and could offer it in the 200-250 range ...

Well, I guess what impressed me the most was their new 8mm V3 gate. I had never seen or even heard of a switchable dual Super 8/Regular gate on rank telecine.

I've seen Super 8 gates (usually converted 16 mil) and Regular 8 gates (very rarely), but only as separate units. And the results can ...

New Super 8 Facility!

FYI message to all 8mm users. I am an independent filmmaker who makes extensive use of the super 8 film format. Found a great new place to process and telecine my super 8 film. It's called Spectra Film & Video, and they're in L.A. The footage they transferred for me BLEW ME AWAY! They have this new ...
