I've asked them what they'll do with the processing machine:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your message.

I'm afraid the machines will just be taken apart. It will not be possible to re-mount them for different technical reasons.

Alas!

We wish you anyway a good continuation with other products ...

Well, believe it or not, I have copy-pasted the entire directory and am currently checking all links (and to also avoid the irritating pop-ups and ads). Links which don't work I keep in the directory but I 'strike' them.

Check out the 'refurbished' (not ready yet) metadirectory here:

Canon 814 XL-S problem with 9/18 fps.

I've heard a long time ago about these XL-S's with speed problems. And unfortunately, now I have found one...

Mine only runs on 24 fps. (the SM slow-motion button still works) but I can't get it run on 18 or 9.

So, the lens is clear, the lightmeter works as a charm, but unfortunately, the 9 and ...

A bit of topic maybe, but here is a tip for you if you don't have the yellow envelope: put the cartridge in an old Agfachrome or other brand envelope, or just send it in a regular plain envelope. Has worked for me dozen times, never failed.

Even film I bought in NY, USA -so without the pre-paid ...

Time and patience I have, but not the tools nor skills, so I'll be putting this camera on eBay this week for anyone who has the skills or money to get it cleaned. Thanks for your reply Mitch!

Taking apart lens from 1014 XL-S

Hi folks,

Is it possible to take apart the lens from a 1014 or 814 XL-S to clean the inside? I mean, the older 814 models have little screws on the focusing ring, but the XL-S versions don't.

Any suggestions?

Nizo lightmeter noise

Hello fellow super-8 citizens :)

I have had several Nizo sound-camera's and some of them had the same problem: the lightmeter works but is very noisy! kind of 'screech-screech' if it changes it's aperture
!
No problem if filming non-sound... but otherwise...

Any ideas?

oops!

..I hope you don't mind me using them as a link in my Ebay descriptions?? If so, I won't use the links to your manuals again. I have send you two new ones, for an Elmo camera and a Canon 518 SV.

hello there!

If it's the OLD 814 autozoom, you'll need separate cells. Is there a big, black screw on the side of the camera? This is the place to put them (2x 1.35 PX625 if I am not mistaking)

The 814 Electronic won't be needing these cells. Check the above link 'Manuals' to download the manual ...
