Not at all. Point and shoot film cameras are easy for some and hard for others. Digital cameras are easy for everyone. That is the important difference.

I beg to differ on this one point. Shooting a picture with a point and shot film or digital camera is about the same. The ...

Why would those you speak of have more of a problem with one type of external filter than another? They won't. Therefore, it is just a fact accepted by the remaining super 8 users that filtration is part and parcel of the super 8 experience, assuming that they care enough for proper color. If ...

Having used all the above cameras I suggest the Canon 1014e. It can be purchased regularly on Ebay for anywhere between 100 - 300 dollars. It is a masterpiece in features, reliability and imagery. The lens is superb, the viewfinder bright and the ergonomics pleasant. Lastly it can handle the many ...

a large number of these filmmakers around the world are home movie enthusiast who don't get into the technical aspects of moviemaking
and those are "here" you mean? if they're not interested in the technical aspects i highly doubt that they lurk on this board too. ;-)

I don't think anyone here has a problem with using a filter or bypassing the notches to set the ASA manually but they all have a problem with grain that is too big. After all, you are replacing K40, so it's a pretty tall order for any Ektachrome reversal.

I ordered the first issue and hopefully the issue pictured will be the one sent. I can't wait to read about the 360 Panorama. I wonder if another picture shows 16 Elmo GS1200 set up for the syncronised ...

A solution to keep K40 Super 8mm

I along with many others are very dissappointed in Kodaks decision to stop K40 Super 8mm. Personally I think the decision was made because of the losses on the processing side. The number of Kodachrome cartridges sold has to be greater than the negative stocks and at least similar to the B/W stocks ...

Hi - I have used PK59 mailers from the early 80's with no problems. They have no expiration date, unlike recent mailers.

Hi everyone

I don't usually advertise my ebay auctions on the forum but in this case I know this lens was of interest to several people wanting to build there own telecine. I purchased this lens from the same source Paul Cotto and Roger Evans (Moviestuff) purchased theirs. I haven't put it to use ...

I just received the 2005 showreel and while I thought there were some very nice shots, I felt the demo was poorly done. 99% of everything was handheld and shaky. I can see were handheld would be appropiate in the concert and wedding shots but it would have been nice to see some scenes where the ...

Hi everybody

I am putting my prized Bolex DS8 up for auction tonight. I have debated doing this forever but I want to raise funds for my Super 8mm DVD so here it goes. I haven't used it much just ran a couple of test 25ft b/w rolls and they were great. If any one has any questions please let me ...

Being the seller I wanted to verify that to the best of my knowledge processing is NOT included as this film was purchased in the USA. I realize I put shipping only to USA, I screwed up also in that the shipping calculator lists shipping weight as 2 lbs. I noticed these errors but couldn't fix it ...
