Isolating Colors

I posted this in the filmmaking forum but it seems like no one really goes there, so here goes:

Does anyone know how to isolate an object in color while the rest of the shot is in black and white? I know you can do this in FCP but how? The only thing I know is that the shot has to be orginally in ...

Isolating Colors

Does anyone know how to isolate an object in color while the rest of the shot is in black and white? I know you can do this in FCP but how? The only thing I know is that the shot has to be orginally in color. Any help would be appreciated.

Do a search for "video tap." There are several posts about this.

Kev

Nice assumption, but incorrect.

There have been several posts about video assist, but you won't find them searching for "video tap". That reveals only one thread:

Sorry Guys,

I am afraid it’s all true. They buy all their junk stock from "Short Enz". This has been confirmed. Feel free to check for yourselves.

As far as my transfer was concerned, the film had no trace of blue to work with except for an occasional shift. It would have been totally ...

Yeah, I haven't had any problem with them either. My school uses Pro8mm for processing for the Super8 class. My film came out near perfect, but I also refuse to pay their skyrocket prices.

I bought the Mondo Bolex Instruction DVD and it has 5 movies on it. I have to say the movies are interesting to say the least. The instruction part of it is another matter, it's kind of boring and slow.

I think Robert Rodriquez had the right idea, in his book "Rebel Without A Crew," he mentions not to spend a lot of money on a camera and rather find some dude who has one and borrow it. You could probably also rent from an organization like Film Arts here in San Francisco. You have to take a class ...

I think the pulldown was done by the machine. I should also mention that the lines you see on the images are probably from my camera. Come to think of it, could it be in the fault of processing? The processing was done by Pro8mm, it was for a school project and our school has a deal with them.

TVT-S8 Test

Ok,
I just got my TVT-S8 test back today. I have to say I was impressed. Clive does some wonderful work. Anyway, it may not look that great because of the compression. I had some trouble with quicktime but anyway, check it out:

No, it's not a multispeed so it is a bit noisy although not as noisy as some of my other cameras. I ...

My new toy!

Here are some pics of my new Beaulieu 5008s that I just got yesterday and I love it. I know these are crappy pics but I took them with my cheap camcorder since I don't have a digicamera.
