Yeah, great results!

I too kinda prefer the look before color correction. The color correction really does bring the color back, which is good if you want big, full colour.

But thats not to say the original doesn't look good!

They both look good! In their own way!

Check out http://www.widescreen-centre.co.ukWidescreen Centre. They offer a telecine service to PAL VHS, as well as DVD. Prices are pretty good too!

I've just finished a 60 second film project using K40 film, which wielded pretty decent results.

I'm in the planning stages of shooting a 20 minute short and will probably be using Pro8mm negative filmstock.

Good/bad idea? I've heard it gives results not dissimilar to 16mm filmstock. If so, I'm ...

I was in exactly the same situation as you.

I was wanting to shoot a series of short films in Super8 to experiment with filmmaking, but then was put off by the price of film.

My advice, is if you're completely new to filmmaking, is to just experiment with a standard video camera, be it 8mm, Hi8 ...
