Re: Super 8 wedding

Thanks Mitch! I do like the look of the uncorrected neg's, just as a throwback to the look of the uncorrected Super 8 you see in some home movie's. I'm trying to learn Color right now, so, I might use that video as test footage to see what I can do with it.

Super 8 wedding

Thought I'd share this with you guys - http://www.vimeo.com/1205322

Shot it on V2500T Super 8 for a co-workers wedding. The camera was a Nizo 6080. Transferred by Spectra with no color correction done during transfer or post-production. There was very little light inside the chapel when I shot, and ...

Re: With/Without

Thanks guys.

Roster - It was a strange situation with the camera, because it was very difficult to focus sometimes, and never seemed to be consistent with how much light was needed to properly expose, but, I learned a lot from it. Thanks, again, for the comments.

With/Without

I finally finished my last student film from three years ago, and put it up online. Take a look - http://www.vimeo.com/1150763

Shot on Tri-X and Kodachrome on a Nizo 6080.

Re: Sort of OT - FCP and MacBook

Thanks guys, for all of the advice. I'm running FCP on an iMac right now, and want something portable that I can also run it on (should I need to), but didn't really want to have to invest in a MacBook Pro.

Anyways, thanks again!

Sort of OT - FCP and MacBook

Has anyone tried to run Final Cut Pro on a regular MacBook? If so, is it worth it if you don't have access to a MacBook Pro?

I use Spectra. They've always done a great job, been really friendly, and willing to do whatever you need. I'd give them a shot, before you head over to Pro-8.

I'm confused. I can't find anything in this article about digital projection. Most theaters in the States, if they even have a digital projection unit, only have one unit per theater, against a total of 10-20 screens (the rest, of course, being traditional film projection).

Jean, Thank you for the response. That was exactly the kind of first hand advice/experience I was looking for.

Sciolist, we're obviously arguing semantics at this point. I apologize for phrasing the question incorrectly. I'll try to do a better job next time.

As I said before, I read the article. What I was looking for is someone to give some practical advice on the matter. Something like - "Yes, I've used regular C-mounts and I've had this or that problem", or "I haven't had any problems", or "I use regular C-mounts, but I make sure not to do whatever ...

I've seen that article, but it's really more technical information than I can process. What I'm really trying to do is find someone to give me there first hand experiences in plain english.

Practical opinions on the RX Lens

I've read a lot online about how you can't use regular C-mount lenses on a RX Bolex. I've also read that you can, so long as your stopped down below f4 (or, maybe above f4, I can't remember).

Anyways, does anyone here use regular C-mount lenses on RX cameras? and, if so, what are the problems that ...

I think the jerkiness may be attributed to the film being shot at 18fps, and transferred to 24fps, and then compressed...

I think sound effects would be make it into something a little too involved. If I was doing a "Sans Soleil" type film, I would defenitely do them, but right now, these are just ...
