Connecting anamorphics

Joerg,

Most anamorphic lenses you are likely to find that aren't Lomo lenses are going to have a threaded mount for attaching to a projector. I've never measured the thread pitch, but it's not a camera standard.

Also keep in mind that many of these lenses are heavy. Your camera lens mount might ...

I think my best Ebay deal was a Kowa 8Z anamorphic lens for $25. That was the buy it now, and I managed to hit the auction two minutes after it started.

Gentlest on film 16mm projector?

Hey all,

I've been looking at posts regarding the Kodak Pageant and CT1000 projectors, but couldn't a reference I found once upon a time that said that one is considered the safest projector on film. Is this correct? I'm looking for the projector that has the lowest risk/incidence of scratching ...

Construction seems solid, but on the day I bought a supertronic, the reflex mirror dropped out of it and into the lens barrel, scratching up the built in daylight filter. I still don't have it properly aligned yet.

I guess glue can dry out and lose its tack on anything.

I should say, though, that ...

This sounds great!

Filmbuff, have you ever tried including 4 of the mailers with a 400' reel?

Mine don't have an expirition date, I've just seen so many references to Dwayne's being the only gig in town that I was concerned that they no longer had any value.

Kodachrome 16mm prepaid mailers...any good?

Does anyone know if there is an avenue for using prepaid 100' mailers? I have about fifteen of them that I'd like to be able to use.

Yes, yes, it's always easier to buy a new one.

I WILL NOT ADMIT DEFEAT!

Really, it hasn't been tough (except for when the mirror dropped into the rear of my lens assembly with glue on it) It's just been time, and I have time...I haven't been shooting much lately.

David, I am using the ...

Thanks for the filter clarification - I appreciate it.

I'll try the motor without soldering and see if I have the wires right.

I'm really with David for keeping it stripped down and manual, but I'd like to keep it stock in case I sell it later.

Filter different from other Sankyos?

I read one of the Sankyo guides online and it says that it uses a Type A daylight filter.

Is the Supertronic different from other models in this regard?

Supertronic zoom motor wiring diagram

Thanks Filmbuff. I'll start looking for an 85A. A local shop has a free swatchbook, which might have a heavy enough gel in it.

Does anyone know which wire is which, or even if it will make a difference?

I've hosed my Supertronic--Need some ideas

I finally got around to regluing the reflex mirror behind the lens. In the process, the mirror fell into the lens assembly and caught behind the integrated filter. I was lucky that the rear element of the lens didn't scratch, but the process of removing the mirror caused two things to happen to the ...

Magazine material reactivity with film

I remember reading that the metal in older Mitchell mags reacted with film and caused scintillation. Is this still true? Are there certain metals or plastics that don't play well with filmstock?
