I going down to New Zealand for vacation. I want to bring along my Canon 310XL with the wide attachment. My worry is that if an external filter is placed between the camera and C-8 wide attachment, it may be enough to render my shots out of focus. Any experience with this? Much appreciated.

Re: Strange noise with sound cart and single frame
I do not believe this is the case. Reading through the manual, it states:
"The portion of the film which is exposed using the single frame or interval timer mechanism will be silent even if a sound cartridge is loaded"
Come to think of it, I remember shooting timelapse on a sound cart before with ...

Strange noise with sound cart and single frame
I'm currently filming timelapse with my Canon 814XLS in timelapse at 1fps with a cart of k40 sound. Each time the frame triggers it is making an unusual sound, almost as if gears are slipping. Does anyone know if the sound differs from that of a silent cart?
Thanks,

Re: Kodachrome vinegar mold syndrome BAD!
Thanks for the info Davideo. The film underneath looks uniform. I contacted Urbanski. Judging by the photo, he believes that the white stuff is mold and not vinegar. And says that Filmrenew should take care of it. I think I'll give it a try.
Cheers.

Kodachrome vinegar mold syndrome BAD!
I recently aquired a few rolls of kodachrome 8mm from a friends mom that are dated around the late fifties and early sixties. A couple of them seem to be in pretty bad shape. I don't want to even unravel them. Can they be restored?
Can I do this myself with some household ingredients? Thanks.

The frame grabs look great. Over the past few years, the colors held up fine.
Can't wait to see the films.

The only issue I had, was that it was a pain in the ass to load.

Yes, really. Loop formers were fine. The problem was that nine times of of ten, when the film went in behind the preasure plate, the camera would stop as if it were jamming. The problem wasn't ...

Great camera. Bought the two lens turret model a few years back for $10.
Had to downsize. Ended up selling it for nearly $300. a couple of years ago.
You have to use a specific lens in one of the mounts. A Comat or something.
Does single frame also. cable release socket is on the underside of the ...

I used this matte box on my 814XL-S with the C-8 wide for a recent shoot.
