How is the stability (film weave, judder) with the universal? I'm interested in that you are doing both 8 and 16. Most of the demos I saw online of the retro were of 8mm. We have a Retro 8 and 16 that we bought just before the universal was announced.

Has anyone had experience adjusting the torque motor the Canon 518SV. I've got about 20 of these, some of them have no problem but several just don't want to pull the film sometimes. Tscan, have you used the previous retro scan pro units? I'm wondering if this combined unit also improves on those, especially with regard to frame stability and film grain. After posting that, which I had submitted while waiting for a Retro Pro 16 I had sent in to be serviced, the unit came back and now the unit is much more stable, to the point where it's hard to tell if the resulting weave is from the camera or from the scan.
