Good short. Not to enthused about some of the editing but even with my VERY crude understanding of German I could follow the story pretty easily.

Thanks, wado1942.
I agree with you now on the editing. I shot this last year with a friend of mine. It got him accepted at the Amsterdam film school ...

I've built one with a friend. You can see it in use in two shots in a short film we've made:

It's truly amazing what you can do with it. Of course it needs a flat base, but the pivoting it can do is really nice. I even made a little ...

Yes, I love Chris Cunningham's work . He actually shot this short over a couple of years in his own basement with a couple of his mates (it's him in the chair!) and he edited it most of it in AE. Amazing.

Also, I found this Orange commercial he did, in which he uses the bullettime effect along with ...

I sort of know the DP of that film and I will ask him about it the next time I see him. I've seen the film too and thought it was great. I don't think it's easily available, but I found this:

I always convert my PAL dv-footage to 24p using two very useful After Effects Plugins: FieldsKit and Twixtor . The first one is an intelligent deinterlacer and the second one slowsdown/speedsup footage and simulates the correct motion blur. It morphs between frames, instead of just combining them ...

Thanks for the link, Konton. I think I'll give that camera a go. Do you know whether it's necessary to put the camera inside the viewfinder or not (I guess it is...)?
I'm planning to shoot a short with it this fall. I'll surely post results.

DIY Video assist

Yesterday I got lucky on a great deal. A local warehouse sold the MD 41350 Portable DVD Player for €60. I was hoping to connect some sort of mini camera to the screen and turn it into a video assist for my K-3.
Does anybody have experience in this field? Is this even possible with the K-3 ...

I own the Jaques Cousteau dvd box and in one of the films (I think it's The Silent World) they show some of their custom made camera's and they mention that they process the film on board. I believe you even get to see the some of the equipment.

Yes, it's springwound. It can run for about 30 seconds at 24fps. It's in nice condition, but I haven't been able to get the internal lightmeter to work.

Hi Mathis,

I don't have an R16 or know anyone who does, but I do live in Den Haag and if a simple K3 will do the job, I'll lend it to you.

Groetjes,
René.
