I'm not familiar with the transfer techniques but I use transferring from s8 directly to DV files - the burn it to cd for me for about 1,2$ per minute and I add sth about 2$ for burning the cd ;)))) - the files have very good quality and they are a good choice for me because I use a dv camera for ...

how much does the film transfer cost???? I don't have that many problems - it's something about 1$ per minute of film in my city (poznan, Poland )))) -thats transffering from 8,s8,16 and some other formats to VHS ....is that expensive in the US???

anyone seen the scanned manual for the Canon 514xl camera? (not 514xl-s)

well I use a similar sony camera (maybe slightly better) and I didn't notice any quality loss when recording to the 8 tape in d8 format.

well...auctions are not so bad at all - i've won a Canon 514xl for 13$ !!! on a Polish auction. I got the camera today and its in perfect shape - never used !!!

i've checked that - thats 5.6 $ - not much ...;)

I just bought the Canon 514xl camera and I have a question:

How do you guys get your film cartridges and how much do they cost?
I've heard that Kodak supplies are running out. And whats with Fomapan? Do they still produce the Super8 tapes?
