i especially want the pirate copies. the reason the copies suck may
be the fact they're on cdrom (700mb) . the movies i download on
kazaa are bad so they can be small files. i download the sopranos
episodes the same week they're aired. i could subscribe to hbo , but
then i'd ignore the hollyweird ...

i wonder why there's no more porn on film . i don't really care about
porno in general, it's that the movies from the 70's were so unique.
when porn went to video the attitude changed as well (boogie nights ?)
the idea that nobody cares about the 'story' was a big mistake .
to just videotape ...

i would really be into making any sort of pirate movie(not being sarcastic,
either) i think it would be great. there's so much room for levity and
humor in a project like that ..... with that kind of open-ended storyline
it would be hard to make it boring . . . almost too easy.......except
for the ...

sorry, i forgot your question about the screws- nope, you can't sub metal
for the plastic ones . they'd short the conacts. if you end up gluing the
stuff together , make sure it's clean first,

i'm not suggesting that you do anything. you asked the question about
a nikon + i remarked what i thought was probably the culprit. if you
removed the cover , you could look at the leafswitch and see if it
looked busted. if you take out the screws from the film compartment
you won't disturb ...

my 715's battery door is also looking rather dubious . if 10 or 15 people
were to request it , i would entertain making some replacement parts for
this thing . the tabs that swing into place to lock the door are delicate and fragile looking . i'd probably make them out of delrin plastic.

i have 4 nikons . the s-zoom 8 + the 8x s-zoom , they both have the same problem(really the same cam body) there's a leaf switch at the back of the camera that is also part of the start/stop clutch . this is a
sandwich of plastic and leafspring with some tiny screws that hold the whole shebang ...

not sure about the model number of your carena , but ican tell you
this much : carena made some very unique reg8mm cameras , i can't
remember if they were german or swiss . the ones i'm familiar with
had either angenieux or schneider lenses . one had a spring that wound
by turning the round ...
